St. Patrick’s Day Eyeshadow Look

14 Mar

We loved the eye look we created for Saint Patrick’s Day last year so much we decided to share it with you again this year!

With St. Patrick’s Day this weekend, we’ve decided to embrace our green side and create a makeup look for the celebration that is fun and fabulous. We love themed holidays, a day where we can dress up and have a good time, and this makeup look is perfect to accent any green outfit.

The Steps

1. Apply shimmery white eyeshadow to your entire eyelid. We love Polyester Bride by Urban Decay.

2. Brush on gold shimmery eyeshadow from your lash line to your crease. Draw a thin line using the same eyeshadow along your bottom lash line. We love Golden Crown by M.A.C.

3. Using an eyeshadow brush, apply an emerald green eyeshadow, sweeping the color onto your eyelid, continuing past the outer corner of your eye, towards your eyebrow. We love Swimming by M.A.C.

4. Use the same emerald green eyeshadow and draw a thick line under your eye, from the center to the outer edge.

5. Apply glittery false eyelashes to your upper lash line and then line over the lashes with black eyeliner. We love Guilty Pleasure by NYX and Liquid Eye Liner by M.A.C.

6. Apply clover-shaped gemstone stickers and small silver stone stickers around the outer corner of your eyes. You can purchase these from any craft store.

We hope you enjoy this look and have a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day! Leave us a comment and let us know!

16 Aug

Time to break out the easy to wear and classic basics in your wardrobe and jazz up your makeup for a great new look that’s fun and goes with every style. By sticking with classic neutral colors in your outfit you provide a blank canvas to accent with a plethora of funky colors and hues in your makeup look.

We color fanatics love the 120 Color Palette 1st Edition by Bhcosmetics. It’s stuffed with radiant pigments and a spectrum of colors including both shimmer and matte shadows. The 2nd and 3rd editions also include wonderful high spirited colors, but we prefer the 1st if going for a bold vibrant look. Knowing how hard some colors can be to find, such as true reds, we fell in love with the array of colors this palette provides.

Edition One is our favorite and Bhcosmetics says, “Sleek and portable, the stylish eyeshadow palette encases two amazing color layers ranging from deep rubies and glittering onyxes to sparkling emeralds and lustrous lavenders to turn you into a dazzling diva by day and sultry siren by night.” The colors in this palette are incredible and it’s affordable, perfect for any fashionista searching for some new looks.

Dazzle Your Tattoo Using Eye Kandy Glitter

11 Aug

Tattoos have always been a popular way to permanently decorate your body, and have even branched off into the beauty world with permanent makeup, like tattooed eyeliner and lip liner. Tattoos are a form of self expression and even a work of art, so we decided to add a little sparkle, glamorizing an ordinary tattoo into something that works perfect for nights out on the town or any occasion that calls for a little glitz and glam.

Transforming your tattoo is simple and easy with Eye Kandy Cosmetics’ eye and body glitter. All you have to do is pick your colors and paint on as little or as much as you want.

The glitter pots come with a liquid adhesive base for all-day wear. The company says, “Our Liquid Sugar base offers incredible endurance that will hold your glitter on all day without flaking off into your eyes and onto your face. Our Eye Kandy Sprinkles are a high-end, pure cosmetic glitter that is completely safe for the eyes and is available in forty-eight brilliant colors.”

Mood Makeup- Carefree & Sexy

21 Apr

Do you find yourself jovial and cheery most days? Does news typically pass over you worry free while others get bogged down by the day? If you’re the type to have a big smile on your face and lightness in your step, then your beauty mood is carefree. The carefree women isn’t a slave to fashion or caught up in trends, and she’d much rather be enjoying the day instead of being glued in front of a mirror. With her in mind, we’ve created a quick and easy makeup look, perfect for the carefree woman.

The Face

Step 1) Using a makeup sponge, or your fingers in a pinch, apply a tinted moisturizer all over your face focusing on key areas like under your eyes. We love Laura Mercier or the more wallet-friendly Almay.

Step 2) Using a large round brush, dust loose powder over your face to set your makeup. Sephora brand Mineral loose Powder works well.

The Eyes and Cheeks

Step 3) Using your fingers apply a liquid blush to your cheek bones; this works equally well as eye shadow. We used Almay Smart Shade blush for a nice natural effect.

Steps 4) Finish the look with a little mascara. We used Maybelline Volume Express The Falsies in Very Black.

Mood Makeup-Sexy

Unafraid and always up for a night out is the attitude of a sexy woman. Sexy isn’t her little black dress or her pair of Manolo Blahniks, it’s the way she walks, talks, and smiles; it’s her very essence. As much as her come-hither look helps, sexy is all in the attitude. We all want to be her, and with this makeup look–equal parts sassy and seductive–you’re that much closer.

The Eyes

Step 1) Start with a shimmery cream colored base and using a small brush, apply to the eyelid, focusing on the inner corner of the eye. We love Urban Decay in Midnight Cowboy.

Step 2) Using a small brush, apply a line of brown eye shadow from the inner corner of your eye out to the outer corner along the crease and blend. Bobbie Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze works well.

Step 3) Apply a thin layer of glue to false eyelashes and press along the lash line. Using a black eyeliner pencil, draw a thick line along you upper lash line forming a slight wing at the outer corner. We used Salon Perfect false eyelashes and Wet N Wild eyeliner pencil in.

The Lips

Steps4) Finally apply a bright red matte lipstick to your lips, cleaning any smudges with tissue.

Mila Kunis Inspired Makeup Look

10 Mar

Mila Kunis may not have been up for an Oscar, but we couldn’t resist shining light on such a beautiful actress, a woman who embodies femininity and grace. She’s come a long way since playing Jackie Burkhart in “That 70’s Show,” her most well-known role, and let’s just say we love the diverse roles she plays, from Whippit in the movie “Date Night,” Solara in “The Book of Eli,” and her most recent role as Lily in “Black Swan.”

At The Oscars, Mila’s makeup looked absolutely gorgeous, focusing on neutral browns to compliment her elegant, lavender-colored Elie Saab gown. We decided to do our own rendition, so now you can look as good as Mila Kunis on the red carpet with this these simple steps.

The Steps

1. Apply white shimmer eyeshadow, from your lash line to your eyebrow, using an eyeshadow brush. We love Crystal White by Dior.

2. Fill in your inner bottom lash line with a black eyeliner pencil. We love bareMinerals Big & Bright Eyeliner by Bare Escentuals.

3. Use a medium brown shimmer eyeshadow to draw a line just below your bottom lash line. For bold definition, brush the same brown shimmer eyeshadow to the crease of your eyelid.  We like Bronzed by Bare Escentuals.

4. Carefully apply black false lashes and line over them with liquid black eyeliner, winging the line past the outer corner of your eye. We like Puro Amor by Kat Von D and Mink (dramatic criss-cross black) false eyelashes by Sephora.

We hope you enjoyed this makeup look! What was your favorite red carpet makeup look? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Love Leopard Lips?

3 Mar

To go along with our love leopard print eyeshadow, we’ve decided to extend the print to lips. This fun lipstick look will wow your friends and be the purr-fect accessory to your little black dress.

The Steps

1. Line and fill your lips with bright pink lipstick. We love M.A.C’s Show Orchid.

2. Using liquid eyeliner, draw different sized half circles on your upper and lower lip in a scattered pattern. Be creative with placement. If you’re unsure, use a picture or another item that is leopard print to guide you. We love M.A.C’s Liquid Eyeliner.

3. Fill in the half circles with gold liquid glitter eyeliner, using a lip liner brush. We love Sephora’s Glitter Eyeliner in 07 Gold.

This look is simply wild! We hope you enjoy! Leave us a comment and let us know what you think and don’t forget to Like Us on Facebook or Follow Us on Twitter.
